We had our first American visitor yesterday! Well, she didn’t come to England specifically to visit us, but she was here and so we took advantage of the opportunity and met in London for a nice dinner with Haley. She is in Europe for a month of adventure, visiting friends she met during her semester abroad, and traveling to Belgium, Denmark, Holland, and Spain. I may have missed a country in there, but you get the idea. We met her at a great little restaurant in the Covent Garden area of London. She had already adjusted to the time difference in just one day – she’s young!
Covent Garden is one of many great areas of London. It is filled with a multitude of restaurants and stores. Last time we passed through the square, The Food Network was filming and having some type of food fair. Yum! London is a magnet for all kinds of fun.
We started our day visiting the Westfield Mall in West London. It is enormous with too many shops to visit in one day. I think they listed over 300. There are the high-end shops like Tiffany, Chanel, and Gucci and then hundreds of regular stores like The Gap, Hollister, H&M and British favorites like Top Shop, Republic, Super Dry and House of Fraser. I am sure we will visit again. It was packed with people since it was the Bank Holiday.
We are getting to be proficient travelers on the train and tube.
